In Canada, 2 departments are responsible for Canadian immigration and border control matters.
Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which is responsible for immigration, refugee and citizenship policy making, as well as making procedures and rules to administrate those policies.
Public Safety Canada, which includes Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA), is responsible for examining travelers passing through the borders, arresting or removing the foreign nationals who are inadmissible.
In 1989, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada was established to review the decisions made by IRCC and CBSA. IRB’s mission is “to make well-reasoned decisions on immigration and refugee matters, efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the law”.
We strongly recommend our clients to contact us if you need to appear in front of the IRB for an admissibility hearing or for the following appeals. We will guide you through the hearing process and work towards the most favourable outcome for you.
